Maquartia claripennis Malloch, 1932, orig. des. [NZAC].Diagnosis
Characteristics of Austromacquartia include: 1. Body size 10mm; 2. Parafacials haired on upper half; 3. parafacials at middle narrower than post pedicel; 4. Face deep, divided by a very weak facial carina; 5. Lower facial margin small, deeply sunken; 6. Facial ridge strongly angled backwards below; 7. Wing cell r4+5 closed, with a very short petiole at centre of wing margin. Note: this genus is currently not included in the key and needs revising.Distribution in NZ
South Island: MB, WD. Distribution after Malloch 1938, the genus might have a wider distribution.
