Diagnosis

Characteristics of Bothrophora include: 1. Body size 15 – 20mm; 2. Face with deep antennal grooves separated by facial carina; 3. Bothrophora lupina resembles Protohystricia spp., but is lacking a fringe of hairs on stem vein.

Distribution in NZ


North Island: AK, BP, GB, HB, ND, RI, TO, WI. South Island: BR, KA, MB, NC, NN, SD, WD, WN. (Undescribed species: CO, DN, MC, SL).
