Characteristics of Calcager include: 1. Body size 6 – 9mm; 2. Last section of vein CuA1 half as long as or longer than penultimate section shared with Calcageria, Plagiomyia, and Uclesiella; but differs by; 3. Vein R1 without dorsal setae; 4. Cell r4+5 open; 5. 3rd and 4th abdominal segment with discal setae.Distribution in NZ
