Characteristics of Calcageria include: 1. Body size 6.5 – 7.5mm; 2. Last section of vein CuA1 half as long as or longer than penultimate section shared with Calcager, Plagiomyia, and Uclesiella; but differs by 3. Vein R1 with dorsal setae; 4. Cell r4+5 open.Distribution in NZ
North Island: BP, GB, HB, TK, TO, WD; South Island: BR, DN, FD, MB, MC, MK, NN, OL, SI, SL.
