Perrissina crocea Malloch, 1938, orig. des. [NZAC].

Diagnosis

Characteristics of Perrissina include: 1. Body size 10 – 12mm; 2; Parafacials bare below lowest frontal bristles; 3. Gena height at most 1/2 as high as eye; 4. Face visible in profile.

Distribution in NZ


North Island: AK, BP, CL, ND, TK, TO, WI, WN; South Island: BR, DN, FD, NC, NN, SD.

Biology and Hosts

Reared from a Lucanidae sp. ex Eucalyptus, from a dead Plagianthus sp. branch and privet wood.
