Characteristics of Proscissio include: 1. Body size 7 – 13mm; 2. Face with deep antennal grooves separated by facial carina; 3. Postpedicel about 3 × as long as pedicel; 4. 2nd aristal segment about as long as wide; 5. Parafacials much wider at narrowest point than postpedicel; 6. Gena over half as high as eye.Distribution in NZ
