Uclesiella irregularis Malloch, 1938, orig. designation and monotypy [NZAC]

Diagnosis

Characteristics of Uclesiella include: 1.Body size 3.5 – 5mm; 2.Last section of vein CuA1 half as long as or longer than penultimate section shared with Calcager, Calcageria, Plagiomyia; but differs by; 3. Vein R1 with dorsal setae; 4. Wing cell r4+5 closed and with a petiole.

Distribution in NZ


North Island: AK, BP, GB, HB, TK, WN; South Island: CO, MC, NC, NN, SC.

Uclesiella irregularis Malloch, 1938; + 2 undescribed species.

Biology and Hosts

Pseudocoremia suavis (Butler) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae).
