Characteristics of Veluta include: 1.Body size 7 – 10mm; 2. Body dull; 3. Parafacials haired to lower level of eye; 4. Parafacial not wider than postpedicel at narrowest point; 5. Postpedicel about as long as pedicel; 6 Second aristal segment as long as wide; 7. Face concave and visible in profile; 8. Lower facial margin strongly protruding; 9. 2nd abdominal tergite with at least one pair of setae in front of apical setae.Distribution in NZ
South Island: FD, MB, MC NN, WD.
