Xenorrhynchia peeli Malloch, 1938, orig. des. and monotypy [NZAC].Diagnosis
Characteristics of Xenorrhynchia include: 1.Body size 13 – 15mm; 2; Parafacial much wider at narrowest point than postpedicel; 3. Parafacial with hairs to just below midway of eye; 4. Face with deep antennal grooves separated by linear and sharp facial carina; 5. Postpedicel at least 4 × longer than pedicel, the latter being short; 6. 2nd aristal segment at least 3 × longer than wide.Distribution in NZ
South Island: NC, NN.
Distribution is entirely based on type material. Specimen identifications in NZAC need to be confirmed before conclusive distributions can be established.
