TACHINIDAE: Tachininae: Proscissionini: Campylia Malloch, 1938

Type species: Calcager temeraria Hutton, 1901 (amended name), orig. des. [NZAC].

Diagnosis

Characteristics of Campylia include: 1.Body size 6 – 8mm; 2. The 2nd aristomere (segment of the arista) is at least 2-times as long as wide. This character is shared with the Vorinii genera Plagiomyia, Uclesiella, Calcager and Calcageria as well as with the genera Wattia and Heteria. Heteria differs in also having the 1st aristomere at least 2-times as long as wide. Wattia differs in the presence of a presutural alar seta and the Vorinii genera have the ultimate section of CuA1 at least half as long as the penultimate section between DM-Cu and BM-Cu; 3. Postpedicel widened anteriorly.

North Island: AK, CL, GB, ND, TO, WI; South Island: BR, CO, DN, FD, MB, MC, NC, NN, OL, SD.
