Diagnosis

Characteristics of Genotrichia include: 1. Body size ≈ 4mm – 7mm; 2. Anatergite bare (this character shared with Asetulia, Pales, Genotrichia, Montanarturia, Microhystricia, Wattia, Voriini group); 3. Presutural intra-alar seta present; 4. Abdominal tergites separate throughout; 5. Last section of CuA1 over one-third as long than penultimate section; 6. Wing cell r4+5 closed, with a long petiole ending before centre of wing margin.

North Island: TO, WN; South Island: NN, MC.
