Diagnosis

Characteristics of Medinella include: 1. Body size 5 – 6mm; 2. Distinguished from all other NZ Tachinidae by posteroventral midfemur with 1 or 2 strong downwardly directed bristles close to femur base.

Distribution in NZ


North Island: BP, CL, TK, TO; South Island: BR, CO, DN, FD, MB, MC, MK, NN, OL, SD, SI, SL, WD.
