Juga (lateral lobes of head) longer than tylus (middle lobe)

Colour dark brown or black, with or without margins narrowly greenish-white or yellowish-white. Connexivum (side of abdomen) without contrasting dark transverse bars on segments. Head without ocelli (simple eyes) between compound eyes. Segments 2 of antennae about as long as segment 3. Pronotum (dorsal plate of fore thorax) with fore corners extended in front on each side of head. Wings short, not reaching tip of abdomen.

Native to New Zealand; Central Otago only


Colour yellowish-brown or brown, sometimes with a rusty tinge. Connexivum (side of abdomen) with contrasting anterior and posterior dark transverse bars on segments. Head with ocelli (simple eyes) between compound eyes. Segment 2 of antennae much longer than segment 3. Pronotum (dorsal plate of fore thorax) with fore corners not extended in front on each side of head. Wings long, reaching tip of abdomen.
