Contributor Zdzislawa Teresa Stebnicka, family name Eichler, was born in Poland, educated in fine arts and natural sciences, and was awarded a Dr. Sc. degree at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow. She is employed at the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals of the Polish Academy of Sciences where her research is on the taxonomy, comparative morphology, biogeography, and phylogeny of various groups of beetles, and in particular the Aphodiinae of the world. She has authored over 80 original papers and books covering systematics, faunal, ecological, and biogeographical treatments of aphodiines and many other groups of Coleoptera.
