Diagnostic features
Branched filamentous rhodophyte which may be pink or grey-green. Filaments end with rounded cell tips or sometimes with bulbous sporangia. The filaments are one cell wide. Side branches have a similar thickness to the main axis and are not strongly tapered. May be impossible to distinguish from the "Audouinella stage" of Batrachospermum.Typical habitats
