There are 2 main groups:
- Mygalomorphs = primitive spiders, 4 book lungs (breathing apparatus); examples are
- tarantulas
- tunnelweb spiders.
- Araneomorphs = true spiders, 2 book lungs (breathing apparatus); examples are
- orbweb spiders
- hunting spiders.
