Known distribution

North Island, New Zealand. In addition to the type locality, recorded from Lake Ngako, Waiotapu thermal area.

Etymology

From Lake Opoura.

Description

The linear-elliptical valves differ from the type species by having broadly protracted, faintly capitate apices and narrower central area. 30-34 x 8-9 µm, 11 striae in 10 µm.
