Etymology

Dedicated to the New Zealand biologist Vivienne Cassie.

Description

Valves broadly elliptic-lanceolate with slightly protracted apices, 25-30 µm long and 10-13 µm broad. Raphe straight filiform with terminal fissures deflected in the same direction. Narrow linear axial area and small central area. 8-10 transapical striae in 10 µm, radiate and punctate.
