Ecosat
EcoSat is about mapping ecosystem (Eco) attributes from satellite (Sat).
It is a group of projects that range from fundamental to applied research to operational commercial projects. It is designed to provide current and cost-effective information about our ecosystems at regional scales. EcoSat has capitalised on long-term research to develop methods for removing the effect of topography from satellite imagery. Landcare Research is currently the world leader in this area, and EcoSat is profiting from this lead to develop new methods and data to assist environmental management in New Zealand.
