Facts and figures: focus groups
Lots of people and organisations generously donated their time to participate in the initial round of focus groups. Here are some preliminary facts and figures summarising the effort involved.

Who was involved?
Within each group the participants had a range of views and knowledge about monitoring and reporting.
Participants included:
- professionals with a considerable expertise in ecology, bird surveys, data analysis and reporting, and conservation and resource management, policy, and practice
- knowledgeable amateur scientists with a keen interest in birds in particular environments
- land owners involved in conservation activities on their properties or on local catchments
- nature lovers interested in or concerned about birds.
